Self Portraits

The self-portraits reflect my interest in the particular characteristics of faces. Sitters/models are very hard to find, so I make do with a mirror. In the children’s portraits I work a lot from photographs. Try getting a five year old to sit still for two minutes, never mind two hours! I find working from life through sustained periods of concentration much more challenging and interesting.
